This is the what the engine looked like before we went to work on the car. It was a Cadillac engine and trans but had no overdrive and was carbureted. The engine bay was very clean except for a little dust on the engine. Sad to see it go but we need More Power!

Before we knew it we were lifting it out.

Not much to look at but with a little clean up we will be on our way.

Now were talking! A 6.0 LQ9 Escalade Engine Package from Nordstrom's Factory Performance fills the void.

The Finished engine package. This LQ9 Escalade really moves this full size GM. At first look from the outside you would not expect this car to exceed 160mph but it will do that all day long with no problem!

So how did it do in the race?

The Caprice ran very strong during the race and held its own. While the drivetrain package gave no problems the fuel system could not bear the tremendous heat build up. As the fuel in the tank rose to more than 160 degrees the pump could no longer take it and the car would stop. The owner has since upgraded the fuel system and the car should be next to unstoppable.
